This is by far the most important subject when discussing sustainability. More and more young people are irresponsible when it comes to bearing children and our social and biological climate are suffering. This is a great step in the right direction for getting people aware of the consequences of their actions.

You should note though that except for "organic" none of these labels are monitored or regulated in any way. Without visiting the farm and seeing for yourself, there's no real way to know if the companies using these terms are actually doing anything differently.

Wow, what a terrific and richly informative article. As I push my plate of regular ole eggs away from me in disgust; I welcome in a new age of Pastured, healthy, delicious eggs with open arms. We can all do our part by purchasing one or two more green, or humane things a week, and eventually the market will start to take notice. Thank you once again Emily for this fountain of knowledge.

Make sure you recycle your old Magic: The Gathering Cards, Pokemon Cards and POGS. They could be sent to our troops who probably need some well deserved entertainment...¡also they are made of cardboard!

What a great blog. I didn't realize there were so many ways to recycle everyday things! IDK what I was thinking throwing out things like shoes and my hair when they could be used for such great things. LOL! I find this article very interesting because it gives people a different view of recycling. Most people think of plastic, paper, cardboard etc. but really recycling means getting additional use out of items one does not need. Helping people that are worse off is the best part of recycling. Very well written and a lot of great information. Keep it up.

PS. Move to Austin!!

I love what this jewelry means. The fact that it is more than a fashion statement but a message of unity and togetherness is reason enough for me to support this designer. But I also love that is a chic art piece!
